I saw Captain Marvel this weekend, and I loved it. It didn't blow me away, the way Black Panther or Thor Ragnarok did, but it was good, fun, enjoyable ala Guardians of the Galaxy or Iron Man 3. I didn't have any major weaknesses, and I thought the casting was great. Brie Larson was great (okay, only complaint, is her superpower always having perfect hair??), Sam Jackson and Ben Mendelsohn seemed like they were super enjoying themselves the whole time, and I loved the final climax/battles.

I have a NUMBER of fic requests that I will probably never write, so I figured I'd write them here. Just putting them out into the universe.

1 Maria/Carol I mean, okay, obviously they were deeply in love lesbians who were fully committed to each other and had a child, but we also in the closet because of the army. I couldn't help thinking about Maria grieving for Carol and not able to tell the world what she meant to her, and poor Monica losing her "aunt" but not able to publically grieve for her mother. and how when Maria reunited with Carol she still couldn't say how much Carol meant to her because Carol didn't remember and there were all these strangers!! and she had to stay in the closet!! Basically I'd read a long fic about Maria's pain and then her and Carol being reunited. and obviously Carol has to come back and visit Maria regularly, in secret, and their relationship growing again, and Carol relearning how to be a mother to Monica. ;_;

2 Nick Fury/Carol/Maria queer family/queer platonic

Nicky & Carol's buddycop vibe was my favorite, and the way they got on was suhc a good part of the film. I'd love a post-movie fic where Nick supports Maria's family, and goes back to visit sometimes, and people (Natasha, Phil) come to the wrong conclusion about what that means. (Nick's secret family!) when really Carol goes back to see her W I F E regularly, and Nick and Carol go for a beer. and Nick is like an uncle figure to Monica.

3 Carol & the Skrulls Carol protecting the Skrull refugees and having adventures around the universe and just her and Talos being buddies. I loved Talos' banter and the Skrull families, so more of that. Carol and her Skrull buddies!
