My grabbag of recent reads that I enjoyed. Anyone read something they liked recently?

Discworld

short street to kicklebury by notbecauseofvictories
One of my fave fics of all time, a Rule 63 Discworld au, Sybil/Vimes, includes a handful of lines that I think were actually written by Pratchett himself.

The Old Guard

Islands of Hours by RC_McLachlan
This has some great dialogue, includes the amazing line "You acted like your precious God and I were in cahoots, deliberately keeping the wonders of sodomy a secret from you."

The Gold of Your Body by azephirin
some great of the "Joe and Nicky fuck through the ages" genre, includes Nicky being into pain and being whipped.

Hockey

How the Future Knew by canary
I stayed up to 3am reading this. It's nominally about Nolan having an onlyfans, but is more about coming to terms with your life and your queerness and finding love. Really lovely and sweet. Has a couple arguments that feel so real and painful but good.

the rain that will strengthen by growlery
A really lovely domestic but painful fic about when you're getting help and comfort from your friends and how that can be good and also painful.

Marvel

New Skies, New Stars by snickfic
A fic about Loki & Valkyrie getting married to break a chastity spell on Loki, but also kinda emotional? Really enjoyable, and good Val and Loki feels.

Black Sails

devoted by Fyre
Miranda pov about her affair with James and Thomas being into that before he'd made his move.

spoilery Thomas/Flint reuniting, very sweet

i don't think you were ever into all for the game but i fell back into the fandom recently and i've been reading a ton of fic, which has been nice. it's been v cool watching you get into black sails and hannibal! how'd that start?
