Hockey memories
Feb. 26th, 2019 08:24 pmStill behind on the posting meme but catching up! I'm on holiday and the most stressful week of my life is over, and a bunch of really good stuff happened to me in the last couple of days and now I'm on holiday and only have to do stuff I like. I'm staying with a friend and performing very important duties like, eating all her guacamole, and introducing her & her boyfriend to It's Alive.
For the posting meme, littlestclouds asked me about my favorite hockey memory.
The "drama" continues with all the teams I'm trying to play on, so I spend about as much time trying to find practice as I do actually practice BUT in good news I managed to borrow another stick from the team, so I do have a stick again! good start I guess.
Okay, on the actual prompt, I dunno, I think I have a couple of favorite hockey memories. Watching my first game (less than a year ago!) was pretty great - I just fell in love right away. It was so ridiculous? but also amazing! And the caps won and I decided I was rooting for them and then bit my nails for the rest of the series and then go to watch them in the Stanley Cup finals! blah blah ~~~bandwagoning whatever I liked it
I also loved getting to just consume all the joy and happiness when the caps won. Watching their parade speeches and following along on twitter as they got tattoos and terrorised DC and just were clearly so happy and everyone else was happy they won. Good times.
Probably my personal favorite hockey memory is actually my first practice! I know I make the team sound like a bummer, but I've met a bunch of really nice cool people through it, and the feeling of getting to practice for the first time was awesome. My skating is okay (not great, but it's okay) and everytime I successfully did anything (turn around, hit the puck, literally anything) felt amazing. I'm loving getting better, and learning more each time I practice, so first practice was definitely a huge high for me.
